Modern, contemporary abstract artist living in Port Isaac, North Cornwall.



Martyn
was born and grew up in Manchester until his early teens. Martyn's love
of painting started at a very early age, and had won his first art
competition by the time he was 7.


Drawn to Cornwall by his love of the sea, its natural beauty and
inspirational qualities, he has now lived in Cornwall for over 30 years
and has been the resident artist in Port Isaac for over a decade.

Martyn turned professional after winning the 'Best Design in Devon and Cornwall' and the 'Arthur Anderson' award for the most successful design.
He was then mentored by the late Mary Redgrave, who worked along side Janet Leech in the New Craftsman Gallery in St Ives, his work then was exhibited  along side Sir Terry Frost, John Miller &  Peter Lanyon in Cornwall.  Martyn then traveled the world exhibiting his work throughout Europe, Canada, New Zealand, Virgin Islands and Brazil from which he brings much of his ideas back to his studio.

He has been featured in magazines such as Art of England, Cornwall
today, 25 most beautiful homes, period living, homes and gardens and
many more, he has also worked along side companies such as Habitat,
Ikea & Tracks publishing. and is currently in negotiation with
Harrods of London. He has a large following of corporate and
prestigious collectors.

He is currently working on his latest series in which combines contemporary mixed media on canvas with 17th century Cornwall.
